Music… that’s what its all about. It moves you, motivates you, makes you cry, laugh, dance. Music can take you on a rollercoaster ride and we keep coming back for more. I love music, it runs through my veins. Once upon a time I worked in a mom and pop record store in a college town. I learned so much about hip hop, R&B, jazz, soul, old school then. I wanted to be a producer when I grew up back in those days. I knew radio personalities, had the hook ups with new releases and promos, I was in the middle of it all and loved it. I just knew the music industry was going to be my life one way or another.

That was a different time, an era long gone, my path took a turn in a different direction and along the bumps and curves I’m where I am right now. Not in the industry and I’m glad for it. The music industry is messed up, more concerned about being a business and less about the music. So here’s my chance to do my part. Essence Grooves is here to remind us that there is good music out there – old and new, soul, R&B, jazz, hip hop… its endless. You just have to know where to find it. Sadly most radio stations are not where its at. Here’s my contribution to help put the madness to an end… enjoy.
